Weekend round up

Asmir Begovic - Stoke v AFCB

Despite bet365 Stadium being empty due to COVID-19 protocols, it has been an emotional night for Asmir Begović who once again returned to Stoke. Bosnian international spent five years in Staffordshire, leaving a huge mark in the Potters Premier league run. However, this Saturday he kept his sheet clean for AFC Bournemouth and continued his good form. The Cherries won their 11th game of the season (1-0) and kept close to the league’s top.

Wycombe Wanderers are on the opposite side of the league table. This weekend they had a great start of the game against Middlesbrough at home, scoring after only three minutes. But, things turned around in just six minutes – Marcus Browne managed to equalise on the half an hour mark, while other Marcus, Tavernier, put Boro in to lead six minutes later. Solid performance from Ryan Allsop could not stop the visitors, who scored the third goal of the day just nine minutes before the final whistle.

Ashley Maynard Brewer was on the bench when his Charlton Athletic visited Hull City, but for the hosts, George Long was wearing our Uno Pro Roll Classic, and he kept his sheet clean for 2-0 win.

Unfortunately, most of the matches in League One and League Two have been postponed this weekend.
