Weekend round up

Another weekend, another win for Asmir Begović and his Cherries. Rainy Friday night was reserved for a trip to Ricoh Arena, where Coventry City was just not good enough to stop in-form Bournemouth. It ended with 3-1 win for the visitors, and the only goal for Coventry came after the penalty kick. However, there is no time for rest – this Monday Asmir travels to Sarajevo to join his colleagues from the national team. Bosnia-Herzegovina hosts Northern Ireland in the UEFA Euro 2020 – or should we call it 2021 now? – play-off.

Northern Irish Premiership starts in 12 days from now, but our Dayle Coleing will be in action this week. After winning over San Marino in the Nations League, Gibraltar travels to Malta to play in a friendly against the hosts. Three days after they travel to Lichteinsten to crucial Nations League match.

Ryan Allsop and Wycombe Wanderers lost again, this time to Luton Town away. The Wanderers are still without points this season, and it will be a tough task for them to keep themselves in the Championship. The relegation battle will be super interesting in Scotland as well, where at this moment three teams at the bottom are even with seven points each. Ryan Fulton was not in the team in 3-2 loss to Hibernian this weekend.

Thai League 1 is in full swing, but after five wins in five matches, Michael Falkesgaard’s Bangkok United lost two in a row. This time they were beaten by second-placed Chonburi 1-0, thanks to an early goal from Dragan Bošković.

Both our goalkeepers in Sweden had a great weekend. Marko Johansson did a routine work at Kalmar, where his Malmo easily won 4-0 to stay on the top of the table. Things have changed for AIK Stockholm since they decided to start Budimir Janošević. Once again our Budo was fantastic, collecting four saves in 2-1 win at Ostersund. AIK is now unbeaten in last five matches, four of them being wins.

Chris Maxwell once again captained his Blackpool in League One, but this time they lost to Lincoln City at home 3-2. In Italy Virtus Entella is waiting for their first win of the season in Serie B – last weekend Daniele Borra and his teammates lost to Reggiana 2-0.
