Football is back! After two months of lockdown, this week Asmir Begović and his AC Milan restarted training activities.
Milanello reopened its doors on Monday morning when the first group of players underwent medical tests. The training sessions are carried out under strict rules – the team is split into two groups, not more than four players work together, while the staff is reduced to a minimum and most of the facilities at the training camp are still closed.
Lombardy region is the epicentre of Italy’s COVID-19 outbreak, suffering near 15.000 deaths, around half of Italy’s coronavirus fatalities. However, Italian football authorities hope that drop in active COVID-19 cases will eventually lead to a restart of the season.
If everything goes according to plan, Serie A could be back on track to resume the remaining 12 fixtures in late May or the beginning of June.
