Weekend round up

Another weekend, another clean sheet for Asmir Begović. Queens Park Rangers visited Vitality Stadium on Saturday, being a better side in this duel, but another man of the match performance from Begović – who sported AB1 Impact Uno Icon gloves  – secured a point for the Cherries. AFC Bournemouth is still unbeaten in this season, and they are sitting on the third position with eleven points.

Wycombe Wanderers and Ryan Allsop are still waiting for their first points of the season. This weekend Millwall came to town and Wanderers had the upper hand after the first half; Scott Kashket scored in the 9th minute. However, a soft penalty gave the Londoners the chance to equalise at the start of the second half, while Ryan Leonard hit a nice volley for 2-1 Millwall win.

Max O’Leary Bristol City is still on the top of the Championship after this weekend’s draw away to Barnsley. An early lead from the hosts was overturned in first six minutes of the second half by Jack Hunt and Tyreeq Bakinson. The hosts conceded the equalising goal but it came from a controversial penalty and the last kick of the game – in 12th minute of stoppage time!

Bobby Edwards made his MLS debut last week, being in starting eleven for the home 2-1 win over Columbus Crew on Thursday. He was between sticks again in Sunday night loss to DC United.

In Thai League 1 Michael Falkesgaard could not prevent another loss for True Bangkok United in what turned out to be a crazy game that ended with 5-4 win for Sukhothai. We witnessed another goals-galore match in Scottish Premiership, where Ryan Fulton’s Hamilton Academicals lost at home to St. Johnstone 5-3.

Marko Johnasson’s Malmo FF plays this evening (Monday) in Stockholm, where they as the league leaders visit current champions of Sweden Djurgarden IF. On the other side of the Swedish capital, our Budimir Janošević was in action, steering his side to another win with another clean sheet – in the clash of old rivals, they beat IFK Goteborg 2-0.

Seria B is in full swing now, with Daniele Borra starting for his Virtus Entella in 1-1 draw with Reggina, despite being with ten men for most of the second half.

Blackpool captured an important point away to Crewe Alexandra (1-1), with our Chris Maxwell between sticks and with captain armband.
