Weekend round up

For the seventh time this season – in seven matches played so far – AFC Bournemouth remained unbeaten. This weekend the Cherries were away to Watford, where late Chris Mepham’s equalizer was enough for the point. Asmir Begović was once again on top of his game, his saves being crucial for saving the team in the game in the second half. Fantastic performance – he had four saves – earned him deserved Man of the match awarded by Bournemouth supporters.

Ryan Allsop had a busy day in Norwich, where the hosts had 75% of the possession and not less than 25 shots on the goal. The Wanderers where on the brink of winning their first point, but Mario Vrancic scored a perfect free kick in the stoppage time.

It was a good weekend for Chris Maxwell, who was the captain in Blackpool’s win over Milton Keynes Dons. Despite losing to Colchester United away, James Belshaw with five saves was the best-rated man in Harrogate Town side. Oscar Linner is still waiting for his Bundesliga debut – his Arminia lost 2-1 away to Wolfsburg.

Virtus Entella’s this weekend clash with Vicenza was postponed, and our Daniele Borra had an unexpected day off. The same stands for Hamilton Academical in Scottish Premiership. In the same time, Bojan Pavlović was very good for his Borac Banja Luke in their 2-0 win at Mladost DK in Bosnian Premijer Liga. Michael Falkesgaard was between sticks for his True Bangkok United in 1-1 draw at Nakhon Mazda FC.

In Sweden Budimir Janošević and his AIK side will visit Norrkoping later today (Monday, October 26th). In the meantime Malmo made a significant step towards the title – with outstanding Marko Johansson on the goal they beat IFK Gothenburg 3-1, expanding their lead at the top to ten points with just five more matches to go.
