Weekend round up

What a week for Asmir Begović and his AFC Bournemouth. After a goalless draw in Swansea, the Cherries kept the pace at the top of the league thrashing Huddersfield Town 5-0 at home. Dominic Solanke scored twice, followed by David Brooks, Junior Stanislas and Sam Surridge, but that was after Asmir made some crucial saves to keep his team in the lead. This has been third clean sheet in a row for Begović, who once again ended up in the Championship Team of the Week.

There is no time to rest – Bournemouth will host Wycombe Wanderers this Tuesday in another AB1GK derby. Ryan Allsop and his teammates haven’t won in the last eight matches. That includes two losses this week, first away to Barnsley (2-1) and then at home to Coventry City (2-1).

In League One Chris Maxwell was a man of the match for his Blackpool in a goalless draw with Oxford United at home. Rochdale and Jay Lynch had much less luck at Peterborough United, where they lost 4-1. James Belshaw played whole 90 minutes for Harrogate in their loss to Morecambe in League Two.

Ryan Fulton and Hamilton Academical sit on the bottom of the Scottish Premiership after another loss, this time to Hibernian at home (4-0). In Thailand, Michael Falkesgaard was back between the sticks, but his True Bangkok United lost at home to Buriram United (1-0).

Daniele Borra had a tough day at work. His Virtus Entella hosted Empoli at Stadio Comunale di Chiavari, taking the lead in the stoppage time of the first half. However, things got wild in the first 15 minutes of the second half, when Leonardo Mancuso scored three for Empoli adding his fourth in 71st minute. But that was not all – Entella reduced Empoli’s lead with 15 minutes to go, just to conceded another goal in final minutes.
