It has been an excellent weekend for Ryan Fulton and his Hamilton Academical. Ryan had four saves, and he kept his first clean sheet of the season and Accies defeated Motherwell away (1-0) to claim the win in Lanarkshire Derby. This was the first win of the season for Hamilton, and it will be a high wind into their back for the next weekend when they host Rangers at New Douglas Park.
While in Scotland the season is in full swing in England teams are preparing for the one to come. Jay Lynch started the pre-season friendly for Rochdale AFC this weekend, and his side defeated Stockport County away 2-0.
Swedish Allsvenskan is packed with surprises this season, but this week both AIK and Malmo won their matches. Budimir Janošević was on the bench for Stockholm side’s win over Helsingborg at home (2-0) while Marko Johansson was between sticks in MFF’s 2-1 win vs Falkenberg.
Northern Irish Premiership is still waiting for its start, but our Dayle Coleing is having an eventful couple of weeks. Last Thursday he kept his sheet clean when his Glentoran FC defeated Havnar Boltfelag to secure the place in the second round of Europa League qualifiers. Next Thursday (27.8.) they will be meeting Motherwell at Fir Park – maybe Ryan will exchange some information with Dayle?
Shannon Lynn was also in action this weekend when her Vittsjo GIK defeated Eskilstuna United (3-2) to move to 9th in Swedish Damallsvenskan.
In Bosnia-Herzegovina Borac Banja Luka, with our Bojan Pavlović on the goal, lost to Široki 3-0. Dalibor Kozić in Radnik was better luck, his team winning one point (1-1) away at Krupa.
