Weekend roundup

Asmir Begović’s AC Milan returned to action last Friday when they visited their arch-rivals Juventus in the second leg of the Italian cup semifinal.

Juventus came into this match with an away-goal advantage thanks to a controversial penalty in final minutes of the San Siro match, and that turned out to be decisive. There was another penalty for the hosts after just 16 minutes of play, but Cristiano Ronaldo hit the post. In the same minute Ante Rebić was sent off, and Milan was a man down for the rest of the match. It ended with a goalless draw, Juventus making progress to the Cup final.

Slovakian Super Liga restarted this weekend as well and Adnan Kanurić, 20-year old Bosnian who wears Impact Uno Negative Pro Icon, was a starter for his ŠKF Sered. After 22 rounds of the regular season, the league split into two play-off groups. Sered finished the regular season as 10th team out of 12 and will be in a relegation battle until the end. This is why their point (1-1) away at Senica is essential.

This weekend was reserved for the opening round of Swedish Allsvenskan, where Serbian Budimir Janošević has high hopes with his AIK Stockholm. He was at the bench when AIK cruised past Örebro SK away from home.

Fantastic news comes from England, where Harrogate Town’s James Belshaw made to Vanarama National League team of the year. Congrats to James, well deserved!
