This has been an eventful week for all of us in AB1GK family. It started with mid-week action for Asmir Begović, who was a hero in the AFC Bournemouth win over Crystal Palace in EFL Cup. Bosnian international first kept a clean sheet in regular time, which took the game in a long penalty shootout. The big man himself took the eleventh penalty for Bournemouth, but Wayne Hennessy saved it. However, Wayne’s penalty went to the row Z and Asmir decided to finish this match – he saved the last penalty taken by Palace captain Luka Milivojević.
This weekend Begović continued with good performances, this time in the Championship. The Cherries played their first away match of the season and won a point (1-1) at Middlesbrough’s Riverside stadium.
Malmo’s Marko Johansson was on double programme this week as well. He wasn’t supposed to start the Europa League match at Honved, but Johan Dahlin’s injury pushed him into starting eleven. And he did a great job, keeping his sheet clean and helping his team advance to the next round, where they meet Lokomotiva Zagreb. In the meantime, Johansson and Malmo visited Norrkoping, where they drew 1-1 but still stayed at the top of the league.
Speaking about Allsvenskan, AIK was back to their Friends Arena this weekend in the big Stockholm derby against Hammarby. Budimir Janošević was in starting eleven and he kept the clean sheet for very important 3-0 win over their city rivals.
Another clean sheet for AB1GK family this week – Chris Maxwell captained his Blackpool in their first win of the season. The Seasiders defeated Swindon, thanks to CJ Hamilton, who scored a brace.
Ryan Allsop had a very busy day at Ewood Park. Experienced Blackburn Rovers side knew how to take advance of the fact that the visitors were a man down for most of the match and made a hell of a day for Wycombe. However, despite 5-0 loss, Allsop had an impressive 11 saves.
Next weekend AB1GK gloves will make its debut in Serie B – our new endorsee Daniele Borra will play for his Virtus Entella at the season opener at Cosenza.
