We are delighted to announce the signing of Club Atlético de Madrid Femenino goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl as the newest addition to the AB1GK family.
37-year old Swedish international has started her professional career with Malmo FF in her homeland, where she also represented Linköpings FC and Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC. As one of the best goalkeepers in the world, in December 2014, Hedvig joined Chelsea Ladies. She has won two league titles and two FA Cups with the Blues before moving to Germany and joining Wolfsburg, where she also won a double. After conquering Sweden, England and Germany, Lindahl decided to move to the Spanish capital, where she currently plays for Atlético de Madrid.
Hedvig Lindahl is one of the best Swedish goalkeepers of all time, winning Diamantbollen – an annual award for Sweden’s best female football player – twice in a row in 2015 and 2016. She has kept Sweden’s goal at the UEFA Women’s Championship, the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the Olympic Games, collecting medals in all competitions. On 17 September 2015, Lindahl played her 113th cap and thereby broke Elisabeth Leidinge’s record to become the most capped Swedish female goalkeeper. To this day, she has played for Sweden on 171 occasion, which makes her the most capped Swedish player of all time.
